Terrain Notes

This is not a place for beginners! The courses are technically difficult and will mainly use the West side of the area. The terrain in the West consists of complex limestone upland, clothed in places by low visibility scrub woodland and rough open farmland. The ground conditions vary, with rough and stony limestone pavement, boggy moorland and short grass meadows. Fences and walls will need to be negotiated, some of which are in poor condition. Please report any damage.

Steep, hilly very fast heavily contoured limestone with rock features. Excellent for testing and practising technical map reading skills. Mostly open grassland with scrub woodland areas. Take care crossing old, dilapidated fences and report any damage. . The area is exposed, so in adverse conditions (remember the time of year!) cags and whistles will be compulsory.
